A Walk In My Shoes
Screening in Killarney Cinema at 330pm on Sunday 21st of October
This fantastic film I shot for the uber talented artist Zoë Uí Fhaoláin Green is being shown as part of the Kerry Film Festival this weekend in Killarney. We shot it last year with the gang from Camphill Community in Dingle, and I’m super proud of it.
Funded by the Arts Council’s ‘Artist in the Community Scheme’, managed by Create, the project explores the themes of friendship, trust and (in)visibility through performance, contact improvisation and the poetry of movement.
The group devised and performed three live pieces of work during the eight month project and filmed at four locations – An Díseart, Dingle Marina, Dún Síon beach and The Blasket Centre – to create a short dance film, with its premier at the Phoenix Cinema Dingle as part of Féile na Bealtaine Arts Festival. They also presented an exhibition of portrait photographs – one of each participant taken during the project.
